Dear Delegates:
For twenty-two years I have served on unpaid, elected Boards as a conservative Republican. I served eight-years at the local level, six-years on a community college Board, and for the past eight years on the Michigan State University Board. For those that know me, my only goal was public service.
So, I have a long record as an elected Board member and Republican. I do not run my campaign with paid political consultants, and I never attack or speak badly of Republican candidates, and I never will. I believe delegates are smart enough to see the truth, and appreciate true public service, not grandstanding or personal advancement. I have been honored to serve as the lone Republican on the MSU Board, and I am proud of my record, which has included:
- The Board member who told the wokest president in the University’s history: “You are fired;”
- Has consistently fought against the higher education unions that control the University, faculty, and Board members, which is at the heart of the liberal agenda and woke mentality of our universities;
- Fought for Michigan students, and against tuition increases, which resulted in MSU being the lowest in the State.
As a lifelong Republican, I believe in our conservative principals. For the past eight years, and throughout my career. Republicans need to stop attacking each other of bogus allegations of being a RINO, simply because you have a record. It is easy to attack those of us who have a public record, and have had to govern, particularly when I sit on a Board of seven Democrats and one Republican - me. We need to stop the fighting, and elect Republicans. I was our party’s highest vote-getter of all statewide Boards in 2016, and I beat my incumbent Democratic opponent by 120,000 votes. I understand people with no record will attack me to “win an election.” However, I am the only one who has won an election.
Eight years ago, I made a promise to all of you that I would represent you, stay for eight years, and stay true to my conservative principles, and I have kept my promise.
